This week will be slightly different because of holiday travel. Jessi and I are heading to Memphis, TN on Wednesday to visit my family for a few days. I’m not planning to write full blog posts during that week, but I’ll be posting a lot about Memphis craft breweries and local ministries on the Bar Chaplain social media platforms. (For example, I could not be more excited about Wiseacre’s Gotta Get Up to Get Down coffee milk stout. If it were practical to bring a keg of it back to Jacksonville with me, I would.) Memphis has changed drastically in just a few years. Many areas that were previously in decline have seen an economic resurgence thanks in part to an eruption of craft breweries, so I’m looking forward to visiting and learning more!

Memphis readers, I would love to get together with you, but this is first and foremost a family visit. Jessi and I are planning to hit up Wiseacre on the night of December 23rd, but watch the Bar Chaplain social media feeds for more updates on our schedule, and feel free to comment here or tweet at me with brewery recommendations. If there’s time, we’d love to swing by Memphis Made as well, but I can’t make any promises yet.
